Almost There

I have learned that I am not a natural born roofer. Thank God for my son-in-law Jeff. We've finally gotten my re-roofing project to about 95% completion. The shingles are down and only a little trim work remains, closing in the end, putting up the new soffits and trim, then paint. I've taken three totally full pickup truckloads of debris to the landfill and was able to breathe a sigh of relief to see that my grass survived being buried under the old asphalt shingles for two weeks.

The new roof is looking good! Mama said, "Ronald's putting a new roof on his screened in porch, I'd give anything to be able to go up there and sit on it."
Now, I ask you, how many times have I told them that I would load them in the car on a Friday afternoon and meet you somewhere to get them and then meet you again on Sunday to bring them home? It's not like I don't drive to Ft. Payne once a month to get Corey! Second weekend of every month, 6 p.m. at the Ft. Payne Cracker Barrel and again that Sunday at 3. Anyway, if you ever want Mama & Daddy to come spend the weekend with you, just let me know...I'll be glad to meet you somewhere in-between with them. (We might just have to tell them...you're going, be ready at whatever time!)
Love you!

The project looks terrific. I don't know of anything you haven't mastered, that you have tried. Smarter still is that you know and subscribe to the little saying "lead, follow, or get out of the way". Lucky you had Jeff. He sounds like a great teacher.
Hope to see you soon.

Now I feel liike a lazy dumbass. A newly-POOR lazy dumbass. I just PAID to have my roof done. You do-it-yourselfers make me feel so lame.

Did you find Martin Lee yet?

LOST!

Once a vibrant shade of yellow, Benny the banana lay forgotten in the vast expanse of a Walmart parking lot, lonely and lost. With the bus...
